REPORTS TO: Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Full-Time, salaried, exempt
The Director of Individual Giving plays a critical role in Beck Center’s culture of philanthropy working closely with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VP for IA) and the management team to build relationships with volunteers and potential donors, and generate contributed revenue from individuals, foundations, corporate, and government. The Director of Individual Giving is responsible for achieving specific revenue goals within the annual fundraising plan, assisting in institutional advancement activities and donor relations including identification, cultivation, and solicitation. The Director of Individual Giving will assist the VP for IA in managing the operations of the fundraising program to ensure long-term sustainability, with particular emphasis on database management and revenue reporting.
ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Drive the organization's mission through strategic fundraising and donor relations.
2. Build and cultivate relationships with donors at all levels, with a strong emphasis on gifts of $2,500+.
3. Develop and execute philanthropic initiatives which result in long-term donor relationships.
4. Identify prospective donors at the $2,500+ level and strategize with the VP for IA on personalized approach, solicitation, renewal, and stewardship.
5. Develop and execute Moves Management strategies to steward donors and motivate increased giving.
6. Track donor engagement in Salesforce (Patron Manager preferred), ensuring all interactions are logged promptly.
7. Oversee the accuracy/integrity of the donor database for effective and efficient data collection and analysis.
8. Ensure pledge reminders are prepared and sent out in a timely manner (at least monthly).
9. Identify potential donors within the volunteer Beck Ambassador group, develop strategies, cultivate relationships, and solicit support.
10. Assist with special events staffing and preparation as needed throughout the year.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
General office environment; must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear; and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work some evening and/or weekend hours, as needed for special events.
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills

High level of computer literacy, including experience using online databases and other sources to locate financial and philanthropic information, Sales Force, PatronManager preferred

Ability to work collaboratively and effectively to manage the work of volunteers and board members

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Institutional Advancement employees, in the absence of the VP for IA. College or high school interns, when available.

Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000, based on experience
EXPERIENCE:

At least three years’ experience in major donor prospecting and fundraising

Exceptional knowledge of communication strategies, concepts and practices.

Demonstrated knowledge of writing clearly and informatively with a high level of sophistication and can vary writing styles to meet needs.

Outstanding organizational skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
