Member Communications Specialist - (2400137)

Develops elements of communication plans focusing on customer retention for assigned audience segment. Integrates strategy with execution to generate varied and moderately complex materials.

Responsibilities:
Member Communications Specialist I

  • Writes and edits content for general or standardized customer retention materials maintaining a clear message and consistent brand identity with few, if any, grammar errors or typos.

  • Develops general communications to internal business units and brokers and assists senior staff with complex communication programs.

  • Provides clear direction to design and production staff.

  • Coordinates with data analytics team to ensure programs are tracked and measured.

  • Assists other Marketing and Communications staff with projects on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Helps draft necessary communications to address HIPAA compliance and notification under the direction of the legal department.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Member Communications Specialist II

  • Writes and edits content for varied and moderately complex customer retention materials maintaining a clear message and consistent brand identity with few, if any, grammar errors or typos.

  • Develops general communications to internal business units and brokers and assists senior staff with complex communications programs.

  • Coordinates with data analytics team to identify areas of campaigns to be measured and tracked to supply reliable, actionable data.

  • Oversees design and production efforts for assigned projects.

  • Assists other Marketing and Communications staff with projects on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Helps determine best response related to HIPAA compliance and notification under direction of the legal department.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Sr. Member Communications Specialist:

  • Creates strategic communications plans and executes elements of those plans.

  • Writes/edits content for complex materials focusing on customer retention maintaining a clear message and consistent brand identity with few, if any, grammar errors or typos.

  • Mentors and guides junior-level staff on content development, project management and other functions.

  • Designs test plans with data analytics team to collect reliable, actionable campaign data.

  • Manages vendor relationships as needed for research, production and other services.

  • Assists other Marketing and Communications staff with projects on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Member Communications Specialist I
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.

  • Up to 1 year experience in communications or related field which includes online communications venues, preferably in the health insurance, healthcare, or financial services industry.

 
 Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of communications concepts and best practices.

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills with a demonstrated command of grammar, spelling and sentence structure.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

  • Knowledge of print and multimedia production.

 
Member Communications Specialist II
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.

  • 3 years of experience as a Member Communications Specialist or equivalent experience in communications or related field, preferably in the health insurance, healthcare, or financial services industry.

 
Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply communications concepts and best practices. 

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills with a demonstrated command of grammar, spelling and sentence structure.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

  • Knowledge of print and multimedia production.

 
Sr. Member Communications Specialist
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.

  • 5 years progressive experience as a Member Communications Specialist or equivalent experience in communications or related field, preferably in the health insurance, healthcare or financial services industry.

 
Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply advanced communications concepts and best practices.

  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills with a demonstrated command of grammar, spelling and sentence structure.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

  • Knowledge of print and multimedia production.
