The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA), located in Cleveland, Ohio, is looking for an ITS Specialist.

Detailed Description
Duties:  Manages one or multiple of the Operations Division’s Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Determines roles and privileges and reviews systems functionality to ensure that configuration of systems matches user requirements.  Interacts with various System Administrators throughout the Authority to address concerns as they relate and/or affect the functionality.  Provides focused technical expertise and support to User and Super-user groups; assists with scheduling software training for users. Interacts with vendors to ensure appropriate hardware and software requirements are met. Works with hardware and software implementation teams to ensure proper installation. Collects data from assigned software systems. Develops in-house data reports, dashboards and automated tools from Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Collects and reviews data for accuracy. Manages special projects and software implementations as assigned.  Practices safety precautions and measures at all times.  Performs other related duties as required.
 
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:  

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Math/Statistics, Engineering, Information Technology, or Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems. 

  • Applicants must have experience in a business environment providing support for business decisions, including analytical support, data gathering, ensuring efficiencies, reviewing quality of product delivery, using statistical analysis to estimate trends, etc.  

  • Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills and must be able to demonstrate those skills.

  • Applicant must have basic knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, SQL, and Oracle database programming. 

  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Environmental Conditions:  This person will work predominantly in an office type environment.

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 8 hours a day. The employee is frequently required to see, hear and speak. The employee may be required to work at a desktop computer for more than 5 hours a day.

Mental Demands:  Reading, watching, studying, observing, focused listening, auditing, proofreading, evaluating. Ability to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data.

Selection Process: This is a non-bargaining exempt level position. Merit system rules do not apply. No Eligible list will be established. The selection process will include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
