Event Bartender - The Elliot
Role: Event Bartender
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Classification: Hourly, Part-time
Rate: $20/hour + tips
Job Overview
Maintains the bar and serves beverages to the guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. Serves as a member of the events team to contribute to the overall success of each event.
Job responsibilities include:

Arriving pre-event to set up and stock the bar per the pull sheet. This includes stocking all ice, beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, and produce.

Reviewing the event prep email provided by The Elliot’s leadership at the beginning of every event.

Prepping the glassware for events, as needed.

Checking in with the day-of Venue Coordinator for event details and attend the pre-event check-in huddle, as applicable.

Cutting and storing all fresh fruit garnishes, juices, and other perishable items to ensure product quality.

Logging into the cash portal if the event requires it. Inputting orders into register and POS system, as needed.

Greeting guests in a timely manner. Mixing, garnishing, and presenting drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.

Completing all trainings and attending required staff meetings (paid).

Practicing “clean as you go” procedures, including trash removal, and busing, when necessary.

Maintaining sanitation in and around the bar area.

Maintaining accurate logs on the pull sheet of beer, wine, and spirits, that are returned or excess taken.

Removing inventory from the bar and replace all equipment to proper storage.

Packing glassware in crates and storage, as needed, post-event.

Working kindly and efficiently with The Elliot’s events team and vendors.

Communicating challenges, concerns or guest complaints to the Venue Coordinator.

Supporting the overall maintenance and event procedures during the event - such as sweeping glassware, maintaining cleanliness, and enforcing safety measures.

Providing excellent customer service by answering common guest questions or needs.

Observing all safety procedures during the assignment.

Maintaining a positive and professional attitude toward guests, co-workers, and management.
Requirements

Arrive at the scheduled time, prepared to work by shift start and in dress code

Keep workstation clean and organized
-
Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed

Understanding of popular drink recipes, mixing procedures, and serving sizes

Ability to operate point-of-sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications

Experience bartending is a must, in a banquet or event setting is preferred

Knowledge of common cocktail recipes

Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock

Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand on your feet for several hours

Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License
