Position Summary:
The Young Latino Network seeks a bilingual creative who is detail-oriented and a strategic problem-solver, fluent in English and Spanish, to help execute and support the organization’s communications and marketing needs. In this role, you will play a crucial part in executing and supporting our organization's communication and marketing strategies.
Qualified applicants must have strong graphic design and writing skills and should be able to manage multiple projects and work well both independently and in a collaborative team environment. A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, or communications, or the equivalent in education and experience, is preferred but not required.

Working knowledge of the following software and applications is also preferred:
Constant Contact, Adobe Products (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat), Canva, Microsoft Office (including Word & PowerPoint), social media (including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter), WordPress, Google Drive / G-Suite products. In addition, the ideal candidate would have a passion for and/or interest in democracy, community building, and social change.

About The Young Latino Network:
The Young Latino Network (YLN) was founded in 2002 by a group of forward-thinking volunteers to empower the Latino/a/e/x community through leadership development and civic engagement. Our work has focused on building a pipeline of next-generation Latino/a/e/x leaders in Greater Cleveland, bridging cultural and socioeconomic divides within the community, building political power through civic education and voter mobilization efforts, and creating a brave space for our community to show up as they are.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Print Marketing and Communications Support (30%):
  • Design and produce print materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, and event invitations using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all print materials.
  • Coordinate printing and distribution logistics for print materials.
  • Write and edit copy for print materials to effectively convey key messages and engage the target audience. Digital Communications Support (30%):
  • Manage and update the organization's website content using Flywheel.
  • Create and schedule engaging posts for social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, to increase audience engagement and awareness.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, comments, and messages, and respond in a timely manner.
  • Design and execute email marketing campaigns using Constant Contact to promote events, programs, and initiatives. Event and Community Support (20%):
  • Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of events and programs both online and in-person.
  • Provide on-site support during events, including set-up, registration, and attendee engagement. • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members, partners, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and support through digital organizing. Narrative and Storytelling (20%):
  • Develop compelling narratives and stories that highlight the organization's mission, impact, and accomplishments.
  • Conduct interviews and gather content from staff, volunteers, and community members to create authentic and engaging stories.
  • Write articles, blog posts, and press releases to share stories with the media and the public.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop multimedia content such as videos and podcasts to showcase stories in different formats.


Job Requirements:

  1. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license
  2. Able to lift 75 pounds 
  3. Able to stop, bend, squat, and stand for long periods of time.  
  4. Must have good communication skills and time management.
  5. Able to work evenings, weekends, and a variety of shifts, including shifts that may extend beyond 8-hour lengths when high volume is necessary. Reasonable accommodation may be made, where necessary, to allow a qualified individual to perform essential job functions.


Experience:

  • Microsoft 365 skills: Outlook, SharePoint, Teams
  • Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong Communication Skills: compose documents, letters, meeting minutes, presentations, and reports
  • Fluent in Spanish (speak, write)
  • Independent problem solver and self-starter
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive materials and information
  • Passion for the Mission of Young Latino Network
  • Familiarity working with the Latine community of Greater Cleveland
  • Ability to manage work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable transportation that can be used for work purposes


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position requires a person to have a flexible schedule and be able to work on evenings and weekends
  • Position requires to be physically present at various community events

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary range for this position if $40k -$45K and is commensurate with experience.

  • Org-Wide Holidays and Digital Detox Windows: Total of 20 days (10 Holidays and 2 Detox Windows of 5 days each) to support everyone with fully disconnecting.
