Email Marketing Specialist I

This position will require you to be located in Cleveland, OH We are in a hybrid schedule, 2 days on campus and 3 days WFH.  

  

The Email Marketing Specialist responsibilities include coordinating, creating and deploying digital resources (i.e., emails, landing pages) that utilize best practices to drive continuous improvement for all OverDrive campaigns and email marketing programs. This role is instrumental in building the email marketing program from a technical standpoint and growing it into a best-in-class experience. Must have experience with creating dynamic and responsive content within multiple ESPs, particularly Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This position works through the changing business needs and requirements while keeping email and marketing campaign schedules on target. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment serving as a cross-departmental marketing resource.  

  

Responsibilities:          

  • Meet with internal clients, recommend testing strategies to improve email performance and advise on industry best practices.

  • Code emails using HTML and able to map data using AMPscript. Including the proofing and testing of the creative content for accuracy to meet and exceed email standards.

  • Able to write and use AMPscript to properly personalize emails and create multi version emails.

  • Develop and maintain dynamic content libraries and assign them to customer attributes through coordination of coding within the ESP and coordination with our data science team.

  • Collaborate with varying teams to execute email campaigns to prospects and existing customers by ensuring that campaigns integrate with our company goals.

  • Champion new ideas and concepts to test with the goal of improving email engagement.

  • Lead cross-training initiatives to help extend knowledge to other marketing team members.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills one-on-one and in large groups, with the ability to communicate high-level concepts.

  • Monitor campaign performance on an ongoing basis and optimize to maximize effectiveness.

  • Strengthen OverDrive email and digital marketing strategies to capture key prospect information and leverage insights to move prospects through the sales lifecycle.

Requirements:         

  •  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • 2 - 3 years’ relevant, practical experience.

  • Experience developing and deploying emails with email service providers (i.e. Salesforce Marketing Cloud).

  • Proficient working knowledge of HTML and CSS. JavaScript experience is a plus, but not required.

  • Extensive understanding of email marketing including CAN-SPAM requirements, email marketing trends, email technologies, email best practices, email design, email success metrics, deployment and deliverability.

  • Ability to reinforce industry and company standards for email marketing.

  • Demonstrated team orientation, motivation and flexibility.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to keep clients informed.

  • Strong aptitude for documenting standards and practices.

  • Creative, analytical thinker who can apply marketing and project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
