Staff Accountant - Sportsbook
Essential Functions
- Processes input data according to established accounting procedures, facilitating timely and accurate recordings.
- Communicates with company personnel and customers to ensure account records are accurate and complete.
- Reviews system documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains supporting documentation for accounting records as deemed necessary per established audit standards
- Reconciles documents, files and prepares items for record retention as appropriate.
- Balances all methods of payment to corresponding wagers, as well as payment outcomes.
- Notifies supervisor of any potential discrepancies and assists with research and resolution of problems.
- Performs advanced accounting functions in regards to sports betting revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and taxes.
- Responsible for computing month end journal entries and associated balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Available for on demand requests from management team as needed.
- Complies with and upholds company expectations including Code of Commitment, policies, procedures, industry regulations, department goals and business strategy.
- Assists with documentation requests and feedback for both internal and external auditors.
- Politely gives consistent, timely and accurate information and finds answer when unsure.
- Acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to JACK Entertainment and encourages other to do the same.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
- Maintains upbeat, positive attitude, friendly and helpful demeanor, positive energy and enthusiasm from one interaction to the next.
- Assists Supervisor and Finance leadership with other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree, with a major in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of Accounting or related experience required.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management in a clear, friendly, and confident manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be at least 21 years of age,
Required Certification/License
- Must be able to obtain, and maintain a Gaming Occupational License within the State of Ohio.
