Residential Driver / Transportation Specialist, Peer Support
Safely transport residents using agency vehicles in accordance with State of Ohio traffic laws and organizational policies
Ensure punctual transportation to clinical appointments, group sessions, medical visits, employment, court appearances, and recovery supports
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicles
Follow all emergency, accident, and incident reporting procedures
Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and resident sign-in/sign-out documentation
Adhere to OhioMHAS rules, CARF standards, and internal agency policies related to transportation and resident supervision
Comply with confidentiality requirements under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
Participate in audits, monitoring, or reviews related to transportation services
Requirement
High school diploma or GED
Valid Ohio driver’s license with a clean or acceptable driving record
Minimum 21 years of age (preferred due to insurance requirements)
Ability to pass a BCI criminal background check and any additional background screenings required by OhioMHAS
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
Current Peer Support Certificate
Ability to maintain professional boundaries in a residential treatment setting
Prior experience in behavioral health, SUD treatment, residential programs, or social services
Experience working with LGBTQ+ populations
Knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care principles
Defensive driving training or certification
