Description
Welcome to Pride & Wrath*: A Summit County LGBTQIA+ Civic Celebration for Change!
Pride is powerful—but so is purpose. A bold kickoff to Akron’s Pride season, Pride & Wrath* is part rally, part community fair, part call to action, and a one-of-a-kind event that offers a joyful space to channel both your love for community (Pride) and your hunger for meaningful change (Wrath).
Join us at the Akron-Summit County Public Library to connect, learn, and activate across every corner of Summit County. Whether you're a longtime advocate or just starting to explore your civic superpowers, you'll find real, doable ways to get involved—right now.
An afternoon filled with empowerment, education, and community building, this in-person event is a unique opportunity to come together and celebrate the diversity and resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community in Summit County. From inspiring speakers to informative workshops, let's unite in pride and passion to create positive change and learn about simple, turnkey ways to explore and strengthen civic engagement during what is a very complex time in American history.
💥 What to Expect:
- A Civic Engagement Gallery featuring 20+ local orgs with ways to plug in—from voting to volunteering to community gardening
- Opening remarks from Akron LGBTQIA+ leaders and changemakers
- Live performances by local queer artists, musicians, and drag/burlesque talent
- Breakout spaces to reflect, share, and strategize—like the Social Good Graffiti Room
- Organizing sessions on canvassing, advocacy, and writing your reps with fire and clarity
- Free snacks and water (because community care is also snacks)
🎯 Our Goal:
To help every Pride & Wrath* attendee leave with at least one new, tangible way to channel their Pride into civic action—because showing up matters, especially when our rights, lives, and futures are on the line. This isn’t a town hall, this is a launchpad.
