About the Presenters:
Miriam Giardina - former math teacher turned Certified Retirement Education Specialist (CRES) – joined Plexus in November 2020. At Ohio State, she earned her Bachelor of the Arts in English and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, then went on to earn her Master of Education at John Carroll University. She joined Equitable in June 2020 after spending 5 years teaching in the Cleveland Metro Schools. To begin her career in finance, Miriam earned the Series 7 and Series 66 financial registrations and life and health insurance licenses. Miriam and her partner live in Cleveland Heights with their dog, Sadie.

Angela began her career in the financial services industry in the spring of 2004. As a graduate of Ashland University, Angela participated in the Eagle Investment Group, responsible for one third of the University's foundation funds. Angela specializes her practice in working with the unique needs of individuals covered by the State Retirement Systems (STRS/SERS/OPERS) in the non-profit marketplace. In 2010, Angela and her business partner Tom formed North Pointe Financial Group to focus on working with their clients concentrating in financial planning. In 2019, Angela served as national chair for the National Associate Forum, elected by her peers to lead the organization is partnering with the company's home office counterparts to improve the value proposition of the financial advisor field force.
Over the years, Angela has been involved with The Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, Knowledgeable Network of Women, American Heart Association Annual Heart Ball, Akron Zoo Annual Summer Safari, teaching Junior Achievement classes and promoting the Equitable Foundation through the Equitable scholarship programs. While she values community involvement and betterment, outside of working with her clients, her time is spent with her husband, Adam and daughters, Kaylee and Layla.
