In a time of ongoing uncertainty and heightened threats to the LGBTQ+ community, it’s more important than ever to have tools to return to ourselves. Join us for an interactive panel exploring how to practice self-care, emotional check-ins, and grounding strategies when the world feels overwhelming. This conversation will center resilience, emotional acceptance, and unmasking as acts of self-preservation and empowerment. Participants will leave with practical tools and guideposts to support steadiness, authenticity, and community care in challenging times.
Presenters:
Emily Davis, LISW-S, Therapist, She/Her
Emily is a trauma informed clinician, committed to supporting individuals to heal and recover in a safe and supportive environment. She has worked with individuals, couples, and families for 5 years, offering a array of therapeutic approaches. In her free time, she loves to bike in the MetroParks, tend to her vegetable garden, and kayak. She’s extremely dedicated to her self care routine which includes yoga and reiki.
Katharine Bussert, LSW, Therapist, She/Her
Katharine has 8 years of experience working in diverse mental health settings. She uses a collaborative, integrative approach when working with clients, emphasizing values-based living and mindful self-compassion work. In her free time, Katharine loves to go thrifting or antiquing, attend events in her community (particularly those involving the arts), swim at the local pool, and find opportunities to laugh. She spends the most time with her almost 10-year-old dog, Winnie, who even joins her for in-person sessions at the office. Winnie likes to snuggle and get pets from clients, but she is also happy to stay home if you have an allergy or phobia.
