This introductory talk by animal whisperer, Valarie Ross, Owner of Sits & Wiggles, covers the basics of dog behavior and how to build a strong relationship with your dog using science-backed methods.
Valarie Ross (she/her) is the owner and founder of Sits ’n Wiggles Dog Training, a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer–Knowledge Assessed. She helps dogs with big feelings—fear, anxiety, reactivity, and aggression—using science-based, positive reinforcement training without shock, prong, choke collars, or other aversive tools. Valarie is the official dog trainer for WKYC’s Ready Pet Go segment and the founder of the Pawsitive Access Canine Training Fund, a mutual aid fund helping dog guardians access low-cost or free training and gear. When she’s not training, she’s hanging out with her wife, reading, baking sourdough bread, or hiking—usually with her service dog, Gracie Bean, close by.
