DESCRIPTION:How do you measure affinity and a sense of belonging? AJ Leu and Erica Pelz will share easy to implement practices\, trends\, and potential roadblocks. Breakout groups will provide smaller group discussion and idea-sharing. \n\n\nAJ Leu (they/them) is the Director of Diversity and Career Development initiatives in the College of Communication and Information at Kent State University. Utilizing knowledge and skills as an active member of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education and the National Diversity Council\, Leu also serves as an independent consultant and trainer for diversity\, equity\, inclusion\, and belonging initiatives. \n\n\n\nErica Pelz (she/her) is Vice President of Spectrum\, Kent State's LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group\, volunteers with the LGBTQ+ center\, is the faculty/staff advisor to Trans*fusion\, Kent State's organization for transgender and gender-expansive students\, and mentors a student through the Quest Mentorship Program. She is passionate about advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community\, but especially for transgender people.  She spearheaded the push to get trans inclusive health insurance for faculty and staff at Kent State University.
