DESCRIPTION:Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance that honors trans lives lost to violence and discrimination. With the growing number of anti-trans acts\, it is critical to hold space for memory and reflection\, as well as bring awareness.\n\n \n\nEvent Will Include:\n\n- Outdoor & Indoor Space\n\n- Accessible Parking\n\n- Security\n\n- Speakers / Poetry / Song\n\n- Respectful Fire Ceremony\n\n- Time for Reflection\n\n- Voter Registration\n\n- HIV prevention & PrEP Information\n\n- Community Resources\n\n \n\nPlease note this event is free and secular.\n\n\n\nPartners:\n\n- Bayard Rustin LGBTQ+ Resource Center\n\n- City of Akron\n\nSponsors:\n\n- Equitas Health \n\n- Western Reserve Hospital\n\n \n\nAbout Trans Joy Akron:\n\nTrans Joy Akron was created in response to the amazing turnout at Akron's Trans Day of Visibility Celebration last March and in 2022. Our core planning group consists of a diverse team of trans\, non-binary\, and gender expansive leaders along with committed allies.
